Tarver Tips for Healthy U Exhibit @ National Library Week, April 11-17

Good health is the greatest asset anyone can have. We have a lot of health-related government resources at the Tarver Library, and we are eager to share this wealth of information with you!

We are happy to invite you to visit our “Tarver Tips for a Healthy U” exhibit which will be on display Sunday, April 11 from 2pm-10pm, and Monday, April 12 from 10am-3pm right inside the main entrance. Come see us for the resources, fun, and free give-away items!

During this time, you will have a chance to become familiar with several key health databases sponsored by the National Library of Medicine, enjoy learning Mercer Wellness tips for a healthy life style, watch live demos, and even visit with the Tarver librarians. Refreshments will be provided.

In addition, we will offer three walk-in student workshops on how to use PubMed, PubMed Central – a source of free full-text articles—and Medline Plus. If you are interested in any of these resources in your studies or simply have an inquisitive mind, stop by the Tarver Library Classroom at any of these times:

1) April 12, 11am-noon

2) April 12, 1:30pm-2:30pm

3) April 13, 11am- noon

We look forward to seeing you April 11-12 and be sure to come back for our 10th Anniversary Party on April 13.

On April 13, the exhibit will move to the University Center from 10am to12:30pm and then the Connell Student Center from 1pm to -3pm.

In addition, a faculty brown bag lunch will be offered at noon on April 12, in Room 101 of the Willet Science Building. Faculty are invited for a discussion with Tarver librarians about locating biomedical and life sciences electronic journals through the PubMed Central Journal List and subscribing to the PMC News RSS feed.

If you can’t make it to any of the events, you can check this web page on government health resources.
