Basic Library Orientations -- Spring 2009

Did you want to learn more about the library? Here is your chance: come to one of our Basic Orientation sessions for the spring 2008 semester.

Now you get to tell us what YOU would like to know, and we can talk about your specific interest(s) in what we do!

Our most popular topics are:
--Finding books in the library: catalog search, Library of Congress call numbers, reference materials vs. general collection, Ebrary;
--Finding journal articles: GALILEO, library database search, anatomy of a journal citation, popular vs. scholarly articles, saving search results;
--A to Z eJournal Locator: accessing online journals;
--Interlibrary Loan: requesting materials from other libraries;
--Citing your sources: citation styles and guides, RefWorks citation management tool;
--Government documents;
--Media Center.
